Recognition by healthcare professionals

First Aid & CPR Quebec

At FRSQC, our CPR, AED and first-aid training is developed in accordance with the most recent international guidelines for emergency cardiovascular care and first aid.

OIIQ OIIAQ ILCOR 2025

Training aligned with the latest emergency-care standards

We rigorously follow the recommendations of ILCOR (International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation), the international body responsible for the scientific review and worldwide standards in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. These recommendations serve as a reference for health agencies, hospitals and professional orders across Canada.

A professional obligation recognized by the OIIQ

The Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ) clearly states that nurses have the obligation:

  • to intervene quickly in an emergency situation;
  • to be able to initiate cardiopulmonary resuscitation;
  • to keep their professional knowledge and competencies up to date.

In its official publication “Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) — Deontological obligations”, the OIIQ notably states (original in French):

« The nurse must be able to come to the rescue of others, and resuscitation techniques are among the actions a nurse must be able to perform. »

This deontological obligation underscores the importance for healthcare professionals of keeping their CPR competencies up to date through recognized training that complies with current standards.
