11 — Course description

1.1 Introduction

The ability to intervene effectively in an emergency is an indispensable skill for everyone working in sports. The « First Aider – Sports settings (16h) » training is a comprehensive and in-depth initiative designed to equip sports professionals with advanced first aid skills. Whether on or off the field, this training is crucial to ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.

Specifically designed for sports responders, it covers precise emergency management techniques, including the treatment of concussions, sprains, and extreme allergic reactions such as anaphylactic shock.

Certification upon completion
Each participant will be certified « First Aider – Sports settings (16h) », valid for 3 years. This recognized certification attests to mastery of essential skills in advanced first aid within the specific context of sports.

          • Know the content and objectives of the training, the challenges of CPR and airway clearance
          • Awareness of the importance of CPR, national guidelines, causes of cardiac arrest, angina, stroke, opioids
          • Quickly recognize the type of victim, validate breathing and pulse, recognize cardiac arrest and apply the correct intervention techniques
          • Life-threatening emergencies: angina/chest pain, stroke, opioid overdose — recognize, interpret, intervene

                  • Reminders of trauma intervention principles and reasons not to move a victim
                  • Know the specific situations requiring the rescuer to move a victim
                  • Adequately move a traumatized victim threatened by an uncontrolled-risk situation

                  The START triage method

                  • Learn the techniques for applying the START triage method
                  • Learn the basics of intervention in situations involving multiple casualties
                  • Be able to assist a lead triager during an emergency where the number of victims exceeds the number of responders

                  4.1 Theoretical teaching

                  It is crucial to complete all the readings provided before progressing. After each section, you must click the « DONE » button. An interactive medical glossary with highlighted terms is available to facilitate understanding of specialized terms.

                  These sections offer additional details not evaluated in the tests, but can significantly improve your ability to apply skills in real situations.

                  4.2 Theoretical evaluations

                  At the end of each module, a multiple-choice quiz must be completed within 60 minutes. Minimum score required: 80%. Up to 10 retakes allowed. A « Need a hint? » button is available.

                  Intervention in case of repeated failures
                  If you fail to pass the test after 10 attempts, a direct intervention with an FRSQC instructor will be required to identify and address the difficulties encountered.

                  4.3 Practical sessions

                  Before each practical session, you will be guided in building a CPR manikin using everyday objects. An animated video guides participants through each step. Our automated system monitors the time spent — progress is blocked until the session is fully completed. The FRSQC mobile application is available as a complementary support.

                  55 — Deadline management

                  From the date of purchase, you have 10 weeks to complete the entire program. Inactivity of more than 10 weeks results in a temporary suspension of the file. To reactivate your access, contact FRSQC at [email protected].

                  Upon completion of the training, once all evaluations are passed, an official « First Aider – Sports settings (16h) » certificate will be issued to you in electronic format, immediately available for download, email delivery or printing.
